Nkanya Nkwai is one of Cameroons talented actor, writer and producer who was born in a polygamous family in Dumbo-Berabe, Donga Mantung Division of the Northwest Region of Cameroon in 1982. Education has always ben a priority, he attended Presbyterian School Dumbo-Berabe, a village far away from Nkambe, attended Government High School Ako and Government Bilingual High School Nkambe where he had his Advance level. He enrolled into the University of Yaounde 1 known as Ngoa et Kelle, one of the biggest University in the Nation. He joined the Youths With A Mission team in Worcester, South Africa and later moved to LCC International University in Lithuania and also did internship at the Pine Street Church in Boulder, Colorado in the U.S. Apart from the places where he lived which was merely for educational purposes, he lived and grew into a man in Idenau, a local town in Cameroon and Mile 4 Limbe but now resides in Buea after he returned from overseas.
Nkanya made his first appearance on a movie set in 2008 with Seaside movies, Limbe, where he played a lead role in the movie Becky Diana then supporting lead in The Walking Stick. He left Cameroon for further studies abroad and that marked a pause on film related activities till 2010 when he landed a role in a mega play The Crucible performed by LCC International University in Lithuania. He continued with the university theater troop performing in several other university Plays but was not known to the Cameroonian public until 2012 when he resurfaced with the blockbuster, The African Guest shot in Colorado, U.S.A and Cameroon. From 2012 to 2016 Nkanya has written several screenplays one of which has been optioned by a renown France based Cameroonian producers. Apart from acting and writing, Nkanya Nkwai is also into producing, he has produced four movies in four years; The African Guest , Viri, Nightfall and Life Point starring Gerard Essomba, now in post production. He has co produced the movie Woman for Goretti Etchu-Egbe and has been Unit director for three movies Ben & Ara that has won several awards and recognition across the planet for Constance Ejuma in the U.S, Double Life for Djemba-Djemba in Belgium and Broken Pieces for Addy Timany in Belgium.
