Claudio Oben is
a Cameroonian born who migrated to the United States about 10 years ago in
search of the American dream. Just like most immigrants working and going to
school, he stumbled across a long lost dream and passion: acting/film making
and has not looked back ever since. He is now referred to as: actor/ producer,
editor and C.E.O of Zeallmatic Pictures
He has been in the film industry for 5 years now and has
acted in films like: “Captive”, “One night in Vegas”, “Ekei”, “Retaliation”,
“The Portrait” and the list goes on. In 2012 he moved beyond being just an
actor to opening his own production company known as Zeallmatic Pictures. Two
years after its birth Zeallmatic Pictures produced its first film called “CAPTIVE” which went on to wrack 10 nominations and winning 3 awards for
Best Short Film/Series at the World Music and Independent Film Festival (WMIFF
2014), “CAPTIVE”, Best film in the
Diaspora (GIAMA 2014) and Best Actress in the Diaspora: Paula Obaseki (GIAMA
2014).
In
September of 2015 he premiere his second film called “The Portrait” at the AMC Magic Johnson theatre in Largo, MD and
this film at its birth is already sitting on 21 nominations. Being an
independent film maker is a joy to behold and being able to be in a position to
create a film is even more of a humbling experience.
"The only
thing dearer to me than being a filmmaker is being a dad to my amazing 3-year-old
daughter Paige and a husband to my beautiful wife, Mrs. Berlinda Nahbila who so
happens to be the lead actress in “The
Portrait”.
This is someone you have to watch out for.
“To achieve one’s life goals, you need
disciple and consistency, and above all, perfection can never be rushed”.
